Jon was a studio guitarist, songwriter, and recording artist in Nashville for 12 years. He has played on more than 500 records and has performed with a range of music stars at various venues around the country. His songs have been recorded by The Everly Brothers, Smokey Robinson, and Kenny Rogers, among others. They have also been featured in films such as The Firm, starring Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman, and How to Make an American Quilt, starring Winona Ryder, Anne Bancroft, and Ellen Burstyn.
The MCA Master Series label released Jon’s CDs, Waltz at Big Sky (solo), and Letting Go (with Giles Reaves). Sounds of the Season, an MCA Christmas album, contains Jon’s instrumental arrangement of “O Come, O Come Emanuel.” Other artists represented on that label include Larry Carlton, Edgar Meyer, Jerry Douglas, and Acoustic Alchemy.
